Additional payment for disabled child?

by Lena
(Canada)

I have recently filled out form 2201 for my son with Down Syndrome who is 5. I have received back CDB payment and back income tax due to the credit.

What I am trying to find out about now is an additional payment paid aside from these two areas. A friend of mine has a child with autism and she has received $ 2500.00 from the government but it does not come with her income tax.

I have phoned the government several times and no-one seems to know what this would be. Would you know what she is talking about? I know many times it only has to do with filling out the proper paper work.

thank-you,
Lena
