May 23, 2008 from 9:30am to 4:00pm Cost $ 20. Registration required in advance
If you've ever had a child lose control, and possible even become violent, then this is a great workshop for you to attend.
The Geneva Centre for Autism is sponsoring this workshop for parents and caregivers to help them identify the signs of a 'crisis moment' brewing, and provide tools to help avert it and / or get out of it safely.
As the flyer explains: "The program speaks about non-verbal body language as well as other external precipitating factors that can lead to communication issues and thus cause a crisis to develop.
The program will also address the area of personal safety techniques such as getting out of a hair pull or a grab. These are taught in a classroom model type of role playing."
Location: Geneva Centre for Autism 112 Merton St. (Yonge and Davisville), Toronto
