COMMENCE 2010 is a symposium for students and families, professionals, and anyone with an interest in transitioning “high school to adulthood” opportunities for youth - creating a FUTURE of Possibility, Beginnings, & Valued Roles.
This symposium features internationally recognized keynote presenters who go well beyond “the traditional”. Plenary leaders and community members who are discovering and utilizing new paradigms share their stories and insights. Their experiences highlight ways to create full, meaningful and inclusive lives with youth as they finish high school and embark on their personal futures.
Keynote Speakers
Denise Bissonette is an internationally renowned writer, trainer and keynote speaker. She has inspired people and organizations throughout North America to look beyond traditional concepts of career development and to craft livelihoods rooted in the individual “genius” of each person.
Norman Kunc & Emma Van der Clift have spent the last 25 years working to ensure that people with disabilities are able to take their rightful place in schools, workplaces, and communities.
Paul Young is an internationally recognized keynote and motivational speaker. He also has considerable experience as a panellist, seminar participant, group leader, and consultant on disability issues. Paul is the former chair of the Council of Canadians with Disabilities.
