Funding for summer program support person for children with autism (Ontario)
Autism Ontario is offering a program called the "2012 One-to-One Summer Support Worker Reimbursement Fund" that provides financial help for qualifying families.
The reimbursement plan is available to children (up to 18) with ASD, and who require one-to-one support to attend a summer program (including summer camp) in July or August 2012.
"Maximum reimbursements of $600, per child or youth, (18 years or younger) will be made to subsidize services purchased between June 25 and August 31, 2012"
In order to qualify, you will need to provide official evidence of a "clear ASD diagnosis from a professional who is qualified to make the diagnosis". You will also need to submit it with your completed application between April 27, 2011 to June 1, 2012 to Autism Ontario to qualify.
Once you are qualified, there will be a random draw to decide who gets funding. Selected families will know by June 15th whether they are accepted for reimbursement.
After you've been selected, there is another official process to follow to submit receipts for reimbursement by September 14th, and funds will be sent out another 15 days after that.
