I had applied for the N.B.A benefit for persons living with a disability.

I applied for the N.B.A benefit for persons living with a disability. I will say I found this experience both traumatic and very frustrating.

The N.B.A was very helpful. The doctor basically stated that I was fine and could do daily day to day tasks without taking longer than someone my age.

I not only have difficulty doing day to day tasks, but if I am moving too much I will not only be in severe pain I become literally paralysed for days afterward.

My doctor says one day this is why the next visit cannot understand why I am complaining. I do not complain frequently, as I realize that they can only do so much.

But, I find it frustrating and a little insulting when they look at you like your in there to supply a habit. I am in real pain and have been for years.

I was diagnosed with osteo, inflammatory, and a little gout arthritis. Diabetes and heart disease within a 10 yr period. My doctor gives me 200 pain pills for 3 months.

In a 3 month period I had surgery done on my 2 big toes -diabetes related- that took 6 weeks to heal.

I had 2 abscessed teeth that had to be dealt with and not once did I ask for more pain killers. My specialist said that I become paralized because the pain becomes so severe that I cannot walk.

I was turned down for the N.B.A tax benefit because I am not disabled enough. I have gone from a 44hr work week to one week I worked 7hrs because I was in too much pain to sit and work.

There is something wrong with a system when someone in as much pain and suffering as I am in daily is left to deal with it as best I can.
