Innoversity returns in 2008!

Media come together for summit
on creativity and diversity

WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 30 and Friday, Oct. 31, 2008
WHERE: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Hall, Lower Level

The Innoversity Summit returns to Toronto October 30 and 31, bringing together executives from Canada’s major broadcasters as well as talented creators and producers from a wide background of cultures.

The two-day international Summit will feature engaging panel discussions, educational workshops, personal mentoring, and tremendous networking opportunities for emerging and established media professionals to connect with each other and key broadcasters.

Movers and shakers from Canada’s media and cultural landscape – executives, communication specialists, journalists, writers, documentary and television producers, filmmakers, directors, actors, artists and cultural entrepreneurs – will gather together in an environment to celebrate innovation, creativity and diversity.

Innoversity is a non-profit organization committed to increasing diversity in media and cultural institutions and bridging the gap between these organizations and the diverse populations they serve. Innoversity has emerged as the premier media and diversity event in Canada and recognizes the innovation and creativity that are found within diversity.

Innoversity partners include CTVglobemedia, CanWest Media Inc., CBC and Rogers Broadcasting Inc., among others.

Cynthia Reyes, board member and co-founder of Innoversity explains why the Summit was absent last year: “The broadcast industry in Canada has experienced significant flux in the past year; with the majority of our broadcast partners being bought or sold or otherwise undergoing internal changes, Innoversity's board of directors decided the best decision was to ‘miss a year,’" she said. “Many people called, emailed and told us in person what a great loss it was that the Innoversity Summit was not held in 2007. Trust us: It was a loss for the Innoversity team too.”

Innoversity 2008 will feature award-winning presenters, thought-provoking panel discussions, and engaging workshops with key media industry leaders from Canada and elsewhere from around the world.

Come experience Innoversity and add your name to the growing list of Innoversity-inspired success stories.
