This 6 week program, held at Sheppard Public School (Keele and Sheppard) is designed to prepare parents to best support their child's early learning.
The program is designed to give parents routines and activities that can be used every day to help develop children's learning and social skills.
While you help build a healthy relationship with your child, you'll also be helping create an interest in math, reading and science.
Week 1: Brain Development / Attachment Relationship
Week 2: Child Development Overview / Learning through play calendar / Importance of parenting role
Week 3: Development of fine and gross motor skills / Learn how home activities can help with healthy development
Week 4: Visit from librarian of Downsview Public Library and OEY Literacy Specialist, Maria
Week 5: Presentation from the Esso Family Math Program
Week 6: Developing social skills - sharing and building friendships / visit from Public Health Nurse / gain knowledge about nutrition and healthy snacks
