Looking for funding of wheelchair accessible van

by Glenda
(Halifax, Nova Scotia)

I have a beautiful 16 year old daughter who has spina bifida and hydrocephalus. She obtained a van through Presidents Choice charity 3 years ago.

Since then, she has a new power chair aprox.300 lbs.We are looking for a "wheelchair van" and are willing to trade ours to help with the cost.

We are trying to find some sort of organization to help us accomplish this for her.

If you have any ideas,we would be grateful for any feedback.

Wheelchair van funing
by: Graeme Treeby

Good afternoon Glenda

The previous posting is worth looking into. Most of my contacts are in Ontario. However you may try to call any of the organizations that provide the vans. They may know of funding availability. One example organization is Accessible Transportation Sales & Services Canada Ltd in Halifax. Their number is 1-877-453-2877.

All the best...Graeme
