New project will help with adult literacy

by Anna
(Teaching Special Needs Students)

Best selling authors will soon be publishing page turners to promote adult literacy.

Adults who now struggle with reading will be able to move beyond the usual early-reading books aimed at 7 year olds. Instead, they'll have modern thrillers, and other books with adult themes - love, loss, courage and freedom.

Famous authors include Joy Fielding, Gail Anderson-Dargatz and Louise Penny.

The project is modelled after similar programs in England and Ireland. Book topics will include biography, sports, personal money management and fiction.

The new book series will be available from Grass Roots Press starting 2010.
