13 months ago I was approved for ODSP, being transferred from Ontario Works. I completed an eye exam 2 years ago and was approved for the eye wear fund to a max of $300 from Ontario Works and received eye wear.
I have now received a new prescription and provided it to the local ODSP office. It is a different prescription from the last 2 years ago, as it has been every 2 years as my eyes are getting worse with each exam. I was informed that although OW supplies eye wear every 2 years, ODSP only provides this support every 3 years and they base this request as being part of the OW supplement and refer to it being only 2 years since last supplied when OW completed that former request.
I have no eye wear at this time and my last eye wear were damaged a little over a month ago. I waited for the exam to provide my new request.
Being declined new eye wear has put me in a poor position, new prescription, no eye wear and not being able to drive or see very well without, what do I do?
There is no reasonable way I can pay for new glasses on what ODSP provides me.
