opening my own business vs odsp

My wife and I would like to start your own business

But we need the money to do that

We are odsp and of these people are trying to cut us off

If we had your own business we would not need odsp or any thing

Just wanted to direct you to the area in the Ontario Works site that discusses self-employment, and the money that you can receive.

Look for this heading:

Job Placement and Retention Payments for Clients Pursuing Self-Employment



about halfway down the page at:
Ontario Disability Support Program - Employment Supports Directives


I made note of this policy directive in March 2010. Check with your local ODSP office to get the most current information.

For many people, having a disability means it's harder to get a regular job. The typical unemployment rate for people with a disability is 85%.

However, there is a very good chance that you can start you own business, and start to take control of your financial life on your own terms.

You could very easily use the methods I used to build this site, as well as several other online businesses that I run.

You do not have to be on odsp to get help from them starting your own business.

What you need is a start. Do something you enjoy doing, make a few sales and then make an appointemnt with a business start up person at odsp and good luck!
