Canada's new Registered Disability Savings Plan holds great promise for people with disabilities. But will the RDSP deliver?
There are some promising signs, but also inexplicable delays and discrepancies that make me wonder.
As of writing for instance, there are only 3 financial institutions that even offer the plan at all. And two of those appear to be quite secretive about releasing details as to how their plans will actually work.
And as for the one bank that does at least have an online application - there are a number of questions that come up.
For instance, there are references to the ability to charge fees, but no indication as to what the fee is, or is free (for now at least)? It doesn't say so explicitly, which makes me wonder.
I have other questions too, which I'll share below.
But, I also want to hear your thoughts and opinions too.
And also, it would be really helpful for the pioneers that open a plan to share their experiences too. Was it easy? Were you happy with the process, the product and the information and service you received?
